I was about to ask the same. I prefer Pentax because none has ever failed me.
All but 1 Nikon SLR I have had failed under moderate use (3 out of 4).

Ricoh has to deal with the same environment as Nikon, but Pentax users
seem to be a bit more -rabid- loyal. Additionally less is expected of
Pentax, as well.
NIkon produces exceedingly good sometimes great cameras with occ
I would think zero and none. Pentax users haven't reported the same kind of
shutter problems that plague Nikon.
