Jokes about the coating aside, the Firefly edition which I believe is
identical optically is $200 US less, and the Samyang 14mm f2.8 is gets
reviews on the same level as Zeiss Milvus for image quality, and is a
whole 1/2 stop slower for $100 US less than that.

Nutshell review:
While the K-1 has some nice additions and features over the K-3 II, if
it wasn't for the full frame sensor angle of view and performance, I'd
be a bit disappointed by it. Then again, that is like saying that if a
Ferrari didn't have a V-12
Sensor:
The sensor is pretty much the point of the K-1. The 24x36mm “full frame”
sensor restores the full angle of view to legacy Pentax glass. Since the
APS lens lineup is rather thin in fast standard and wide lenses, this
can be a big thing for low light photography. Even on a per-pixel
Speaking of SR, all previous Pentax D-SLRs AFIK, including the 645Z, would
automatically turn OFF the SR if you were in one of three shooting modes:
Self-timer, Remote control, or Mirror Lock-up. Makes sense, in any of these
modes you would be shooting from a tripod and everyone says to pretty

any issues. The only interface change that has been driving me crazy is

Never used that new double-dial thing, intended for features I never use
(except ISO, which already has its own button) . That said, I find that dial
more annoying than useful, being often turned by accident when taking the
camera out of the holster bag. The same happens with the photo/video
I found what the hangup was, I just got a note that it is awaiting
