Hey Chris - Were you ever at the Kingston plant? I was an engineering
apprentice at Hawker's in
Kingston (1956-7), plated cockpit parts for the Hunter, did paint tests for the
wing and tailplane
panels, and ended up metallurgical testing of steel components in the test lab
- learned so much
A "u" here and in Sweden, at least since the 1880s.

Too much light pollution in my part of Michigan to shoot the Milky Way. If I
were to attempt it, I’d use the 50/1.2 and lie on the ground. I could never do
it standing up. Not only would I fail to be steady, I’d probably lose my
balance and topple over. And it’s Stenquist, no i ;-)

Anybody try this with the K-1? Is the Pentax 5-axis image
stabilization this good?
Thanks, Chris.
The canopy might have been spotless and optically perfect when it left the
factory, but after a few months in actual use -- especially under combat
conditions -- it got pretty dirty and scratched. The plane captain would
wipe it down before each flight, but usually just ground the

Thanks, Bob. I was in the wingman spot, as he is ahead of us and to the

to be "over-the-shoulder," and there are obstructions in the canopy in that
direction.

Dan,
Nice photo for the weekend.
Yesterday I was parked next to a special Silver Star winner plate in the
Fry's lot.
His license plate holder was from the 1st Calvary. Wow!
I sure remember those days and those guys...from the safety of the USA.
