WRT to the Q system - I think it was discontinued in the US market
though residual inventory is still available - B has some lenses and
accessories, no new S1 bodies though. I think the system is still
supported in Japan, so it makes sense it would be on the Ricoh Japan site.
On the lens road
I shot a total eclipse in Estevan in around 1978, and spent some time
making sure I wasn't going to trash my camera.
The longest lens I has was a 200mm, I would have liked a 300. I think a 400
would have been too much.
I guess these days there are zooms, but they were rare and crappy at that
time.

19th century Russian aristocracy was speaking French!
(E.g. a large portion of World and Peace by L. Tolstoy is written in
French [even when published in Russian, -- with pages and pages of
footnotes with the translation to Russian])

Most AC adapters are pretty safe to use. Until they die, but at least
more often than not they only kill themselves.

I asked her to style herself as a the rebellious offspring of a
conservative family.

I just tried it. I couldn't get it to bracket in Mirror Up. It's two
different drive modes & they don't overlap.
You can set it for "One-Push Bracketing" in the C2 menu and it will
bracket in Live view.

It's the holiday period. My guess is that the people who read all the emails to
see whether or not they're junk are sitting in deck chairs on a beach
somewhere, reading 19th-century Russian novels in translation.
