Wow!
The infamous "off-by-one" error in a somewhat unusual incarnation. :-)
While I was reading your thriller, my guess was it would be due to the
shutter activations without a card in the slot.
Cheers,

It would've been nice to have a pleasant company there.

I didn't know you had traveled to Clarksville! I would have invited

The projected path of the hurricane rather closely resembles our
last week's travel to the totality path (Clarksville, TN).

As my friend commented: "There seems to be aspiration towards
totality in Harvey's path".

OK, that settles it, sold mine for
$1,700 several years ago by simply
offering it on the PDML.
Thanks, Gonz!

I agree, Gonz. That's also the M.UP system on the K-3.
Still curious. Is that "my" A*300? HA!

I forgot that you were at TAMU. Glad you are safe and did not take
the brunt of the storm. Though please continue to be careful as the
storm is forecast to go back in the gulf then turn north.

I don't think so, unless you sold it on eBay. It was in the wild west
days of eBay and you could actually get a bargain. I think it cost me
around $700 including the 1.4x, which was a real steal. Ebay is more
like a retail store now.

Hi All,
These past few days, we've been watching (and bracing for) the hurricane
Harvey. The past 2 nights brought several emergency alerts on our cell
phones (flash flood, tornado, etc. warnings), but everything seems to be
fine.
We are lucky that the eye of the hurricane went south of us.
Thanks for the considerate equipment response, Gonz!
I owned one of those A* 300
Pentax lenses and 1.4L TC. Hauled
it all over western US and Canada.
Eventually sold it to a PDML member
several years ago. Was that you?

Thanks, Larry and Paul.
When I noticed the pollen by eye, I chased it around for a few minutes to
try to obtain an image that could bring out both colors of the Monarch and
the pollen clinging to it.

Thanks Jack. One thing I did right (I think) was to use the infrared
remote and the mirror-up + remote shutter setting. I think that
minimized the vibrations somewhat.

Thanks Larry, your shots were awesome as well. In retrospect, I
should have put a timer and taken regular shots like you. I guess I
was pretty awed by what was happening and watching my family get
excited.
