Saturday afternoon I played a bit with the bigma at Elkhorn Slough

The swimming black and white bird was really small, maybe the size of a
pigeon. There also seem to be two types of little grey birds.
Excellent shot, Bill - great tonality, especially in the water!

Beautiful, Bill! I suspect that the appearance of the rocks (an unusual
combination of soft and hard) is from the diffraction at f/22. Very effective!

Thanks for all the comments—I really do appreciate them. Things have been a bit
quiet in the critique department here, and it’s good to get feedback from
people whose opinions I respect (hmmm…).
Another photo posted today; maybe the last of the New Hampshire series.

Thanks, Ken.
No, he has never been in the ocean or a lake. This breed of dog comes from
Northwest Alaska, above the arctic circle. There. getting into water
usually is deadly.
Like all of our Malamutes, he avoids the water. He likes to be on the pool
patio with us, but when we go into the pool,

Initially my Mal 'bear' didn't want to go into large bodies of water but we
finally got him into Lake Michigan and we had a hard time getting him out -
he really enjoyed tussling with the wave.

Fascinating. Brick structures were common east of the Mississippi in the 19th

This is a 15 shot stack. It turns out that one can use focus stacking
for landscapes to secure depth of field. Thanks Mark C for that hint.
