Seriously though, some beautiful shots.

Hi Feroze.
I too use the EZ-Cube with 3 cheap compact florescents in white reflectors.
These bulbs were $15.00 US for the 3 and last a very long time.
I set manual WB once from the white material of the cube and haven't had
to reset it in well over 2 years. I shoot strictly jpegs for eekBay stuff.

It's a lot more expensive but a LOT smaller and lighter than their 28/1.8.
62mm vs 77mm filter size.
It's the hugeness of the 28 that's kept me away.
Please let us know what the results are like.

Hi Doug, anything you use to grip it will bend the ring a bit
out of round, jamming it in place.
Try laying it face down on a thin piece of rubber. Gently hold
the piece that isn't supposed to turn and twist.
I just lay stubborn ones face down on the palm of my hand and turn,
almost always works.
See??
This is why people should _use_ a lens, look at the results, and then decide
whether _they_ like it or not.
All reputation aside, I like the Tak Bayonet 135/2.5 very much for tight
portraits.
The wide open 'softness' is perfect for this.
I definitely won't let it get the sun in its eye though

Looking at eekBay "completed items" and KEH are good sources for
pricing items.
My only suggestion would be to take another look at the F and A 35-70s.
Both of them, particularly the A, are very good lenses.

Is anyone else frequently getting their PDML subscription
suspended for "excessive bounces"?
It's happened 4 times now for no apparent reason.
I seem to be getting most/all messages when I compare
mine to the archive.
Makes it impossible to follow threads when you keep

OK this is a BIN, so it should be OK.

Go get it before I do! ;-)

I agree that the photo would have greater impact if the DOF was a bit
deeper, however I like it very much as is.
This only took me a few seconds to dowload and I really like to see this
quality of photo posted.
Might I suggest posting two versions, one for those with slower
connections.

I've had a great deal of trouble coming to terms with digital exposure.
Seems I'm not the only one.
I've learned that this is because I've read the following (only 50% true)
statement many times:

Hi Jens, I've hesitated to get into this because I, and most of us here,
know you take beautiful photographs.
How you do it is your business, not mine. ;-)
I will say however that I have learned a huge amount about digital and
exposure from two places.
One is Bruce Frasers book "Real World Camera R
Hi Bob,
Film, like the human eye, is very sensitive to subtle differences in
tones at the darker end of the scale.
It is very insensitive to the differences at the brighter end.
Digital, on the other hand is linear, equally sensitive to all light levels.
However, when shooting RAW you have only 12
I noticed that they go rather cheaply.
The F 70-210 is a fine lens but IMO the bokeh is rather harsh
for portraits.
I like the results in Daves shot, I may have to try one.

BTW: I had always understood the FA 70-200 to be a dog.
Detail in the shirt, arm, hat and guitar is excellent.
So much for that theory!

Nice Paul, I really like the way he stands out from the crowd.
Good choice of DOF.
The high key, light colored scene with his mostly black and
white outfit works for me too.
The only nit I have is that (on my monitor) his face looks rather
washed out, like it needs a bit more contrast.
