Hi all
As you may know, my countrys economy is devastated
and costs of film and development have skyrocketed.
Im out of photography for now (I have other
priorities) and am considering selling my photo
equipment in the U.S. market.
Could you please tell me how much do you think I can

I've noticed that somehow I messed up my Jan PUG photo
(scanning?). The print is much better than what you
can see on the screen. Sorry.

My Dec PUG assignment:
Dusk Watch by Christian Skofteland, USA:
Nice silhouette and sky color. I like the way the bird
on the right fits into the branch shape. The black
area at the LLC I could do without. There are
cormorants near where I live too and I have
photographed them many times, but

I like the subject - 19th century trains and bridges
have appeal. Massive beams, lots of rivets, built to
last. Definitely pre-electronic stuff. This shot is
effective in showing that.Good DOF and textures on the
anvil-shaped piece. The toning suits the subject.
Where There's Smoke
by Glenn Arthur Jr, USA: The firefighters seem
strangely calm and static. The active subject here is
the fire. I like the backlighting and silhouettes,
also the crop. The lines are distracting, but I think
you can`t choose much in a moment like this.

I agree. The weak points are the out of focus tree

Hi all
Sorry, but I won´t be able to comment on my assigned
photos. My computer at work doesn´t let me see the
full size images anymore, and there´s no way to fix
this right now. Anyway, from the thumbnails, I can say
we have a very nice August PUG!

think it goes to 1:1 without tubes. Its condition is
near mint. Your advice about this lens will

This photo has a strange '50s sci-fi B-class movie
looks - could be the interior of some space ship or
stuff like that. Knowing what it is really, one
wonders about the 'development' theories from the '50s
and '60s - were they sci-fi too?

I think you're right about the fill flash - but I
didn't even think of it at the moment. For me, the
default mode is 'no flash'... :)

I took my MX to some bike trips and found that the
best way to carry it is in a special bag - kind of a
small fanny pack + shoulder strap. Mine is made by
Hama and has room for camera w/big wideangle or short
tele or zoom, 2 film rolls and filters.
I have an MX which has film transport problems. The
spacing between the frames is uneven, sometimes too
wide and sometimes non-existent. This can happen at
any place in the roll, but not on all frames - about 3
or 4 in a 36 roll. The repairman, who is a friend of
mine, said it was probably due to

It depends. I always carry:
Film
Lens caps
Lens hoods
Blower-brush
Polarizers
Swiss Army knife
And many times also:
Table top tripod or small tripod
Cable release
Small flash (Pentax AF 160)
Eyecup
Lens cleaning paper
Flash adapter (for off-camera flash)
Not so often:
Handle mount flash

I've been following the PUG comments thread and

I remember seeing in a Pentax lens brochure from the

macro lenses such as Zuiko Mplan(?) 21 mm for extreme
magnification on a bellows. Perhaps your lens is
similar to that one.

This is a often-debated question. In my experience, a

anymore if it is is kept in a dry and well lighted
environment. Of course, if the fungus has spread so

Maybe someone can help me fix my MX. It started with
uneven frame separation; now it is worse and some
frames are very separated (3 or 4 mm) and some other
are overlapping (slightly). The overlapping frames
(around 3 or 4 in a 36 - exposure roll) are in any
part of the roll. It seems to
I've had some problems with my MX, especially the
meter not operating reliably. It was due to a ring
under the lens mount which has a tab engaging another
tab in the lens to transmit the aperture information
to the meter. This ring was slightly bent and
sometimes stuck (it has a return spring). I
