Last week I posted about the waterproofish stackable organizer boxes
that I found at Home Depot. I headed to my local store yesterday to
pick one up for my speedlight gear. Since the local (very small) store
didn't have the DeWalt box, I went with the Rigid. It turns out that
the plastic dividers are removable, so it can be configured as one big
container. I cut up a foam rubber floor tile, attached it to the top
and bottom for padding, and used it to make subdividers for the large
section.
Here are some pictures of the box, plus a couple of it next to my
Pelican 1510, which is a much better box, and also costs five or six
times as much.

I wouldn't use these to replace the pelican case for use in harsh
environments, but they do look like they'll end up being much better
than cloth bags for carrying stuff in the trunk of my car.
It also looks like the orange containers would be about the right size
for prime lenses and a bit of padding. So I might pick up another one
of these for road trips, so I don't always have every bit of my gear in
my backpack.
