The lens has MACRO capability, coupled with a nice zoom range and a fast 3.5-4.5 f-stop make this a nice lens to keep on your camera all the time. I prefer the original F series to the FA series not just because of performance, but also because of build quality. Its nice having some metal in the build of a lens. The condition of the lens body and glass is excellent, and the diaphragm is clean and snappy, just as a recently professionally cleaned (by Peachtree Camera Repair for oil on diaphragm) lens should be. It is designed to work on Pentax autofocus bodies like the SF-1N, but will work on other Pentax K-mount cameras like Super Program and K1000. With other Pentax K-mount cameras, the lens will support autofocus and program mode if the camera supports it. The body shows minimal wear from normal, careful use.
