Within one month Sony users will see new mid-level class model but
still with APS-C sensor, which should be completely new development
much improved over the one

With scary prices when bought second hand lately, and it would be
even worse when Pentax would release FF DSLR :-(

Probably true for Nikon. Pentax will stick within 1.3 crop.
Pentax will build cameras with whatever sensors are available as
off-the-shelf parts from Sony and/or other manufacturers.
This will include bigger-than-1.3 crop before very long.

I expect, as I've been predicting ever since smaller-than-full-frame
lenses first appeared, that it will just automatically crop when these
lenses are mounted.
They could do that, but they won't bother. (Maybe after a couple of
months of agonized screams from the user base there'll be a firmware
upgrade).

Probably true for Nikon. Pentax will stick within 1.3 crop. Or maybe
not:-). Doesn't matter. What we can buy now works with what we have
now. And the DA* calendar stretches out pretty far into the future.

That's quite possible down the line. But it's all speculation. 1.3
crop or so may well be the limit for Pentax DSLR. Or maybe not:-).

I think they'll bother this time. They may not even go there --
larger than 1.3 or so. The DA* lenses seem to be their brand
statement. If they're smart, they won't just walk all over it. I
suspect that if Pentax ever goes beyond 1.3 crop, it will be with a
645 camera. It's just good

Yes, it is reality, with stanrard lens:

I think we can be sure that integrated Pentax 645D using similar
sized CCD would be even cheaper... Now if only Hoya would allow
Pentax team to release 645D...

Assuming the 645D is ready
Actually the assumption is that the 645D is canceled, based on what I'd
call Pentax's Wiggle on the Hook plan. We really don't know anything yet.

factor body at high yet relatively

Actually

Considering that the 645D was most likely using K10D-based electronics
changed only enough to handle the Kodak sensor(which is significantly
larger than 24x36), that would gain us exactly what?
How much significantly larger? Full frame *PLUS* maybe?

If it were me, assuming that a reasonable profit margin could be realized,
I'd revamp the 645D guts and put them in a K10D style body and attempt to
sell a high end DSLR that uses regular K-mount lenses
