If these are indeed the waning days of film as the dominant medium in photography, I've been trying to decide how I want my film camera lineup to look. I have screwmount and MX/Super Program cameras for wonderful old-fashioned manual focus with older lenses, and I have an MZ-5n and a PZ-1p with a number of FA Pentax lenses for autofocus.

I've really wanted to try an MZ-S, but I don't want to go out and purchase one if it means I'd have to immediately sell other cameras to finance it or that I'd be committing to either selling the PZ-1p shortly or selling the MZ-S fairly soon after giving it a try.

I like the all-mode flash compensation, handling, two-wheel interface of the PZ-1p, but I've really wanted to try the MZ-S with its better construction, better viewfinder (supposedly) for manual focus and its slanted top panel. I'd like to try one, and I don't know if I will end up preferring the MZ-S, my PZ-1p, or both.

Is there anyone out there who has an MZ-S and would like to give an EX+ condition PZ-1p a try? Perhaps especially if you have purchased an *ist D and want to try the PZ-1p, which also has the two-wheel interface and can operate in aperture priority with FA J lenses.

I have the PZ-1p and the optional grip, and we could do a body/grip exchange for a couple of weeks or a month and then swap back at the end of that time, unless both of us mutually agree that we like the cameras we've swapped for. In that case, since the MZ-S is a more expensive camera, we could come to an agreement for either paying the balance or perhaps an additional lens as part of the deal.

If I like the MZ-S but you want it back, we switch back, but then at least I know what my preference is and I can go about finding an MZ-S and selling something else to finance it.

This would probably work best in the US so postage is not that expensive.

I've been on the PDML for almost three years and have bought and sold from numerous list members (I've probably bought a bit more than I've sold, though ... that seems to happen here)! I've also been on eBay since '97 with the username jona if anyone wants to check my feedback.

Let me know if anyone is interested!
