Generally, but not always. The LX calls for a circular polarizer. It is
possible that some other brand manual focus cameras also do, I do not
know.

the only filter that has to be for auto focus or manual focus is the
polerizer. circular polerizer for auto focus and regular polerizer for
manual focus cameras. it has to do with the auto focus system or the
metering system. i'm not sure.
