I don't think there's any IR sensor in the ZX5N. I've used it
extensively for infrared and there has never been a problem, and I
recall Pentax saying at some point that there was no IR sensor in that
camera.

I haven't tried shooting with IR film ever, let alone with the Mz-S. Will be
on holidays in about two weeks and plan to bring along IR film and both my
camera bodies so I can compare results. If this remains a burning question,
you know I'll report back.
