You cannot use 120 film in a 220 film back or vice versa.

These cameras are built like a tank and don't have a whole lot to go wrong with them. I would check that the meter seems accurate, the motor works smoothly, the negs aren't getting scratched in the transport mechanism, basic stuff like that. Then I would check for availability of reasonably priced Pentax lenses for the camera, availability/cost of an additional film holder or two, a replacement/alternative focusing screen. (I do have some of this stuff for sale, BTW.) You will want additional lenses, extension rings, etc before too long, and that is when you may find out that the cost of the body is the least of your concerns.

Hi,

I´ve been offered a Pentax 645 body + MIR 38B 65mm lens (with adapters) +
220 insert for a price of some 300 euros. What are the things I should
check the camera for before concidering buying it? Are there any known
issues (such as the sticky mirror on the LX and so on)? And is it possible
to use 120 film with the 220 inserts?

Thanks in advance!
