I can't help with Mac software. If you have access to a PC I recommend PC Inspector Smart Recovery: It doesn't recognise .pef files, but if you search for .tif files it will work. Then change the recovered files extension from .tif

Hey folks, The search function in the archives doesn't seem to be working, and I would like to use our Mac to recover some PEF files from my 2 gig Sandisk card. Photorescue couldn't seem to hack it, though it tried 7 different recovery methods. Any advice? Rick http://www.photo.net/photos/Rick
