There is a new dpreview feature, I note, wherein digital lens
performance comparisons are being displayed.
Not sure I go along with the testing protocol, but thought I'd make its
existence known for those who are into such.

They like the two Pentax lenses (the 16-45/4 and the
18-50 kit lens).
Their tests seem very precise, but they don't measure
or comment upon such important things as flare
resistance, contrast, and color.
I was disappointed.

To me, it is as much a test of the camera's internal program design and
settings as it is of the lens.
In this set, the PK 16~45 averaged the best "Image Quality" of the
group.

Agree. But then, doing things the easy way instead of the right way is
DP Review all over, isn't it? Just look at their emphasis on JPEG im
