That's been my experience as well. Although I had to return leses a few
times (I have been lucky with the sellers so far)
I guess it's easy to explain: the lens is easier to check -- if it
looks good, it's probably good (anyone can see fungus, scratches, dust
inside, finish wear, tight rings etc,

off EBay are in fine shape, but most cameras need some work. He gets much of his
business from EBay customers who bought a camera that had been described in glowing
terms.
