Hi!
I'm aware that the rechargeable batteries in digital cameras
eventually wear out. How about the memory? Spec'd at so
many reformats, or not?
Lon, my impression is that the mechanics of shutter release would wear
out way before built-in memory starts to exhibit problems. As to

Hi!
Nobody in their right mind would faff about plugging up the camera to
the
computer! Aside from the chore, most current DSLRs have
plastic/rubber
coverings for the data ports and we al know what happens to plastic/
rubber coverings once enough movement is introduced.
Arghhh. It shows that I n

Hi!
Not exactly true. USB 2.0 interfaces are downwards compatible. So if
you
connect *istD to USB2.0 enabled PC it will work without any problems.
Personally I wouldn't bother with this. I would for sure buy external

Hi!
And by the way, how fast can the camera read the memory card anyway?
USB 2.0 is 480 Mbit/s and USB 1.1 is 12 Mbit/s. If the camera doesn't
make
use of the higher speed, maybe there is no need for USB 2.0?
Valid point too. Again, very soon new generation of cards would come
out. Camera h/w an
