I mostly shoot with primes when I have a good idea of what I'm going to be shooting. But for more flexibility, I either take the DA 12-24 for landscapes, or for complete flexibility I take the DA 18-135. You might want to consider the 18-135 if you are going to stay with APS-C. I thought the wide

The 16-45 has been my most used lens for all of my most recent trips.  On my current one, over 95% of my shots have been taken with it: the range is so useful for city walking and most landscapes.  I brought the 50-200 this time as well, but have only used it half-a-dozen times.

I like my 16-45 a lot. Got it to go with my ist D about a decade ago. My only frustration is the limited zoom range. I would likely replace it with a 17-70 if I trusted that Pentax had fixed its SDM drive. Faster lenses are too large and heavy to be appealing. Rick On Sunday, October 30, 2016, P

OK, at this point I'm leaning towards the Tamron 17-50 f2.8. The one report I've had from the list about it is that it's optically very good. The outside reviews complain about it's plasticy build, and noisy AF motor, but hell large numbers of even fairly expensive lenses are mostly plastic t

It's only a stop slower than the other 16/17mm-50/55mm lenses, and the same speed as the Pentax 17-70mm. Everything I've heard about it is good, but I ruled it out because I've been looking for something that fills in the gap between the short zoom and one of the 70-210mm lenses I tend to favor
