Thanks Ann & Subash.

Here is the B&W version. I think you're both right.

In Martian years I'd be half my age.

What a nice set, alan. I especially like the water buffalo shot...
The angry sky in the dried trees is nicely dramatic - if it were
mine, I'd go for BW for that one.

In other news,
Happy Birthday :-)

Today, a grey day, was cold by Phalaborwa standards so we went to

The trees on this kopje are stark without leaves

Scroll R for a group of Buffaloes sheltering from the breeze. As
you can see, no grass. Most of the park is like this after the poor
rainy season. The animals have already eaten most of it & are going
to struggle for the next few months.

Scroll R again for a close up of an Aloe Marlothii floret & R again
for the whole plant.

A.Marlothii & the similar A. Ferox are probably the most striking
of the Aloe species.

All with the K5 & HD 55-300mm @ 55mm.

For those who are interested, we saw Elephant, Buffalo, Wildebees,
Zebra, Impala, Waterbuck, Bushbuck, Warthog & Baboon. No cats.
