I've been subscribed to this list (and a great little list it seems to be) for a couple of months and thought it was about time I maybe introduced myself. I used to be a serious amateur but have been absent from photography for about a decade; recently decided to take up the hobby again, found this list, dusted off my old LX, filled up with Provia F and started shooting. First impression was I really missed the old girl - such a brilliantly ergonomic camera, eh? Second impression is that she has definitely developed the start of sticky mirror :-( I'm hoping that a trip to Pentax UK later this year might cure this. Is it something they cure easily? Currently it only sticks if the camera has been idle for a day or two, and only on the first shot. It can be prevented by locking the mirror up and then down again at the start of the day - it's fine after that. In the meantime I am looking for a cheap second Pentax body to replace the LX whilst it's away and to be my backup when it comes back. Missed a couple of ME Supers on ebay that got to silly prices, so if anyone has a pointer to a good, cheap used one in the UK, (cosmetically challenged would be OK), or a recommendations for an alternative I'd be interested. Don't say MX tho because although I love these it appears everyone else does too! Anyway just a quick 'Hi' to everyone and congrats on the gallery. Some outstanding images there I have to say.
