Interesting question.
In what I think of as my early period, from 1975 to 1989 or so, I earned
quite a bit of money supplementing my writing with photography. But I
used my cameras the way a roofer uses his hammer. They were tools.
During this time I probably spent about $1000 on lenses and camera
I think it's only fair to subtract from the total the funds we got by
selling off equipment we decided to part with.

Of course, way too much. It helps to make a little money on the side from the
camera to help justify it. But this is a question I ask myself all the
time... Am I spending too much. I spend a fraction compared to some of my
friends in the Canon world that are always buying the latest and greates

I don't know how much I've spent since 1982. But I know I spent

Hi
Just a curiosity. How much money you have spent on photography (equipment,
accessories, film, etc.) since it became your hobby?
I am a budget person and spent less than equivalent US$1500 on my gears in past few
years. But I cannot estimate the large amount for print and slide films.
