Don, You may not want to hear this, but speaking as someone who engineered products in the semiconductor manufacturing field for a number of years, I can say that there is no such thing as perfection in imaging arrays. All of the ccd sites vary at least a little bit compared to each other, and so

This is a 500% enlarged crop from a shot taken with the D at 2 seconds with a lens cap on. It's quite visible at 100% if against a dark background. This is the first time I've noticed it and I don't see any others. It "bleeds" into the surrounding pixels. http://www.donsauction.com/pdml/Pixel.jpg
