I once had a used K1000 that had in inaccurate meter. When I brought it in for service, I was told that later K1000s built in China sometimes had welds that were too cold. The welds could break, messing up an electrical contact or making it intermittent. I never knew what to make of this explana

The Meter in the K 1000 can be knocked out of adjustment, all it needs is a competent tech to re-calibrate it, I think it's a matter of adjusting just two screws (pots). I had it done once for my Spotmatic (Can't remember if it was a SP1000 or SPII), and it worked fine for years after, until I
