If they don't say so themselves...

I'm pretty sure it was the best 150mm lens on the market, for
obvious reasons.  

Depending on what you call a "medium telephoto
lens" they are probably right (assuming K150/4 == SMC-T 150/4).
There are 105 and 200mm lenses that are possibly better, but
inbetween that the K150 was a very strong contender. 
Optically speaking, a 150mm f/4 is not all that ambitious, which
would give it a likely edge over faster designs.
