Leon- Then the 1W case is a good fit for you. Can't be any smaller and still do the job, and the lens is well protected. (My 12-24 is still pretty new, and it spends its time bolted on the camera, so the case has been sheltering the old walk-around lens.) Cheers Mike On Nov 28, 2006, at 1:

Hi Mike, I thought it might be a little snug and I knew I would have to reverse the hood - I don't have a problem with that. I want something that will protect the lens when I am not using it, without being too big to lug around. I suspect that when I do get it out I will be using it quite a

From what I've heard, this is a Tokina development (it long preceded the DA version to market) that was placed in a new barrel for Pentax. It's the later lenses which are Pentax optical designs in Tokina barrels when sold as Tokinas (The 10-17 Fisheye and the new 16-50 and 50-135) -Adam Davi

The Tokina is a Pentax lens without the SMC :-) Apparently it was a jointly developed. I think I read the barrel was designed by Tokina & the optics by Pentax. But I'm not too sure. Dave At 08:52 AM 28/11/2006, Beaker wrote: >Hi- > >I have a Tokina AT-X 12-24 F4, (web rumors say the Pentax 12

Hi- I have a Tokina AT-X 12-24 F4, (web rumors say the Pentax 12-24 is the Tokina lens with SMC coatings- Is this true?), and I got that very same case for it. The Lowepro 1W case is a snug fit for the lens shade, and you have to reverse the shade to make it short enough to zip the top cl
