I watched Kelby's "Crush the Composition" earlier. Interesting stuff, mostly. One of the tangents he went off onto at the end was to talk about how Composition does little good if you don't have a decent subject to shoot. He used examples of ugly lighthouses vs. scenic ones and lovely models vs. Brad his photo assistant who stands in as a test target when setting up for portrait shots.
