Which exact production run makes a diference.

My Spider 2 calibrated iMac 24 is a perfect match for my Epson R2880
and R 2400 output with the brightness turned all the way down. Perhaps
I just got lucky, but it's a completely adequate monitor for both
printing and publishing. I have an Apple Cinema Display 23 sitting

as much as the OS allows.
Some early units had defective sensors, that gave monitors a magenta cast. So,
you would buy a used one at some risk.

Yes. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience.
I strongly suggest the Xrite Eye One Display 2 instead.
