A while back I had a Sigma EX 28mm f/1.8 DG "macro" which I sold to purchase Tim Bray's Sigma EX 30mm f1.4 DC. I wasn't sure if it was a good trade at the time, as I was giving up close focusing abilities for the extra 1/2 stop. The 30mm was physically a much smaller lens, but I ended up really missing the close focus. I've also since procured the SMC K 30mm f2.8, which is renowned for its sharpness (most say even sharper than the K 28mm f3.5 and a bit faster, too boot).
So I decided sell the Sigma EX 30mm and go back to the EX 28mm. I bought it on eBay from National Camera "factory refurbished". They originally had 5 and now they have 4 left and you might find the price right if you are in the market for such a lens - so I thought I would pass the URL along: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sigma-28mm-F1-8-EX-DG-Aspherical-Marco-for-Pentax-AF-USA-Refurbished-440109-/301711507381 Here are images on Flickr taken with this lens, if you need some convincing: https://www.flickr.com/groups/sigma28mm18exdgapo/pool/ I've been exceptionally happy with my three Sigma EX lenses. -- He who seeks beauty will find it. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
