The Nobel laureate (in literature) Joseph Brodsky had these lines in his
1972 poem "Letters to a Roman Friend" (translation by George L Kline):

I am not aware of any PDMLers in that part of California.
(And I moved from SoCal many moons ago.)
The right coast has also experienced its share: severe freeze,
DC fires, mudslides, earthquakes, perverts, ...
