A NASA research balloon was released in Wānaka today and it floated NE towards our city. This photo was taken when it was over Ashburton (80km south of here). I don't know its altitude - the flight tracker didn't say. Pentax K5ii with FA*400mm f/5.6 and 2x TC. Quite heavily cropped. A telescope
