Very nice and a good example why rules (like never center a shot) need
to be broken.
My photosniper is collecting dust after I found a Novoflex which I
couldn't afford back in the 80's.

Thanks to everyone who replied, much appreciated. I did cogitate over
the composition for some time and I did take a couple of 'thirds' type
shots, but on the whole I thought the centred looked better balanced
despite breaking the 'rules'. Oh yes, Brian, the Tair 3S is a 300mm

Interesting shot. This is where I would see some possible
improvement:
1) the silhouette could be a little blacker and sharper
2) the upper sky is just too much of nothing - try cropping a bunch
off and making it more of a pano look
3) too centered - try cropping so the left side lower wire hits
Very interesting colours in that sky - almost looks like a smoky haze from a
fire.
I think it might work a little better as a panorama format with the top 25%
cropped out. Perhaps also some Photoshopping to make the bird a true
silhouette.
What's the focal lenght of the Tair 3S?
Cheers

The open, strongly colored sky provides a feeling of loneliness which
suits this image.
