A higher vantage point would have fixed it by separating the boats
from the jetty. Dave must have left his step ladder at home that day.

This old jetty has fallen into a state of disrepair and has been declared
unsafe. There are more modern facilities at the yacht club a few minutes walk
away so it's probably being left to decay.
