Thanks, Rick and Larry. I was in shutter priority, hand-held, at 1/500, to avoid blur from my unsteady hands. The lens was wide open, at f/2.8. The background ws bright, to light up the hairs on the bud. It to a while to get a focused shot, as the slightest camera movement caused me to lose
