I spent the weekend "Up North" as they say here in Minnesota.. filling the

Vermilion if you're curious)
Loud, obnoxious, smelly - but fun.
The second day out was after a night's snowfall - and it continued during the
day.
Actually, I like it just as it is.

Dammit! I like the rendering but that horizonal line in the middle
breaks the mood for me. IMHO

Good subject, but bw rendering needs attention. Contrast for sure. Cheers,

I fooled with it a little last night in PSE. Selected just the grass
and reduced the brightness, then inverted the selection and brought up
the mid-tone contrast on the trees. Didnt' save it, but I could
probably recreate it and post it if you'd like to see it.

Me too. It looks to me that you could bump the contrast quite a bit.

Electrical service, I think. I tried to burn in the grass and I'm
thinking that maybe I'll clone out the wire. It bothers me because I
didn't notice it until after I rendered the raw image on my desktop.

I like the pattern of the trees. I agree with Paulo about the grass;
perhaps if you cropped out all the grass it would be stronger as an
abstract. What is the (almost) horizontal line about a third of the
way from the bottom?

On Wed,
I like this idea. The light grass in the foreground tends to draw my
eye from the tree trunks though. Maybe you could darken the grass some
and increase the mid-tone contrast to give the tree trunks a little more
separation.

I hadn't done a B&W in a while. This seemed to lend itself to such a

I like this shot too. Almost monochrome.

Whoa, nice. I really like that. The tinge of color makes it.

I like the concept, but I'm not especially fond of the rendering. The
foreground is a little too flat in blue-gray for my taste,
I likes it.

That's really nice composition! I like the way the edge of the
treestand occupies the bottom righthand corner
Very nice. The light through the trees is quite beautiful.

Bob,
Good concept. This angle is but one of a number of opportunities this
scene appears to offer.
Soft texture very nice.
