I do understand how much "evil" they cause. But I can't help but think that the
beetles can't be blamed: they didn't ask to be imported to the Americas in a
shipment of Japanese iris bulbs. They're just doing what millions if years of
evolution "designed" them to
Fine image, Frank, but anyone who thinks Japanese beetles are
beautiful doesn't understand the ultimate evil they represent.

they're controlled by predators, here they're not, so they do what millions of
years of evolution have designed them to do: eat plants.
It's not like they asked to come to the Americas - apparently they arrived with
iris
