Thanks everyone for your opinions; with a few notable exceptions there
isn't a great deal of love for this shot. I sort of like it myself. In
the circumstances I wasn't sure whether I should bother taking the shot
or not. I'm glad I did, and will continue to do this sort of thing in

For me, not being able to make out much of his body at all due to
lack of depth of field and the angle that the spider is poised at make
it a nay.

spider eyes. Probably a very limited audience.
