The reason I know about the smell is because the system kept blocking
up and at the same time the lid collapsed because the concrete tank
liners were disintegrating. I helped my old man drain the soak well,
muck it out & replace the lining.
That was a sh!t job ;-)

Since one of the things I do is inspect septic systems, I'll see what I
can do to accommodate you. Not sure how well rendered and insightful it
will be, though. ;>)

Actually, the nasty smell usually occurs when the system is not
functioning properly.

Tom, I agree with you ... I don't care for a lot of the contemporary
terminology wrt Photography. Now, can we see a well thought out and nicely
rendered shot of the sceptic tank?

I was hoping to see the sceptic tank and its cover ... while a nice enuf
shot, it's nonetheless disappointing being rather common. A dug up sceptic
tank is something rarely seen in a photo - at least I've never seen one.

Tom,
Well caught! How "late" could it have been, considering the lighting?
Did you use a polarizing filter or just apply selected enhancing as
needed?
I believe someone mentioned "pot of gold". I get the "pot" part but
what does gold have to do with a septic tank? ;-))

Thursday evening I had the pleasure of digging out our septic tank cover so
the tank could be pumped. At the same time a rain and sleet storm was
blowing in from the Northwest around 7:00 PM.
I got a whiskey, the *ist D, and took a much needed break from the digging.
