Very hard to choose really. They have different messages. I like
them both, they each tell a different story.

I’ve changed my mind, Frank
Definitely the color version.

Anybody who has paid any attention knows that I have an affinity for
monochrome, but THIS image is far superior in color (IMHO).
In the monochrome you miss the fact that the color of the walker's
shoes are mirrored in the window. THAT is the sprinkles on the cupcake
for this fine, FINE image.

HI Frank: I prefer the black and white. Cheers, Christine

Thanks, Paul, Rick, Ann and everyone else who threw in their 2 cents.
I still don't know which I prefer. I was thinking in colour when I took it but
I have to say the B&W worked way better than I expected. It is (as I think
Bruce said) a bit menacing where the colour is a bit whimsical.
To me
I prefer the color as well. The tones complement each other, and the visual
effect is pleasing.

I much prefer the colo(u)r. The subject stands out better and the whimsy of it
comes through more strongly.

I like them both too but with a slight preference for the black and
white , partly because it looks sharper...the conversion to
B W from color seems to have made it so.

I prefer the color version, Frank.

For me, the colour one better matches the mood of the passer-by, who
seems to have a smirky look on. The b&w looks almost menacing.
And for some reason the passer-by lack of focus bothers me in the b&w
but not in the colour. Dunno why.
Love the shot anyway.

Hard to choose, they're both nice. But I think the black and white suits me
better.

I posted a colour version of this back in October. I just did a quick-and-nasty
monochrome rendering on my phone and I have to say, I really don't know which I
prefer:
