The temperature here in Soutern Ontario has improved a lot since David
ventured out with *istD on the weekend. This morning it was a balmy
-4C so I went tobogganing with my little friend Kelly and took my
*istDs along. The sky was very overcast, with

It's got an obvious (and understandable) blue cast to it. But... I
love the simplicity and the graphic elements.
Well
This one just doesn't grab me. There seems to be nothing really of
note to stand out and get my attention.

Great! It has a very cool feel to it: the snow, bare trees, and sunless gray
sky conveys a cold, quiet morning. I also like the (a)symmetry of the
composition.

Did you let program metering figure out the exposure, or did you give
some exposure compensation?
My wife's new Optio S4 has a "snow" scene mode.

Hey Fred,
Overall I like the idea and concept. It portrays a very cold, wintery
day. I think that I would have preferred a little more snow
foreground as opposed to so much sky as background. The sun really
makes the image for me.

I set the exposure compensation to +1.3EV. The first few shots I
took were very dark, so I tried +2.0EV and that was overexposed so
I settled on +1.3EV. Should have mentioned that in the details.
