It's a single shot or actually one shot from a bracketed set to select
the best exposure. The camera is set to extended dynamic range as
default. The raw file is exported as 16bit AdobeRGB and finally a
little Topaz Adjust. Officially this isn't HDR and tonemapping but it
squeezes everything from t

Really nice work. The moderate panorama format of the first one works
well but the second is my favourite of the four - those foreground
shadows lead the eye into the image extremely well.
Interestingly, last winter here was the *hottest* on record, with August
2009 being almost 2.5 degrees Cels
