Mark,
It wasn't the PUG that was tarting up photos.
My recollection is that it was an Indonesian or Phillipino M.D.
who wanted to start a magazine (?). I hadn't seen the PUG,
but thought the idea of photos for the pdml was good.
I think this was just before you took over the PUG.

We have them here. Beautiful creatures, except when they spin a web across a

Thank you so much for doing this, Brian. It is really wonderful being
able to look at the early galleries. It was great seeing the work of
some of the PUGsters who are no longer participating on the list.
There are a lot of familiar names I haven't seen in years.
I was not a member of the group
Great job, Brian. I enjoyed the trip back in time. You are right that
there were months with no galleries; I sometimes couldn't get images,
sometimes didn't have time, and the attitude was very much in the
"whenever" mode. It was a year or two before we decided to make it a
regular thing.

Brian, My first PUG submission was in Nov. 97, I believe. It seems like we were
warned a few years ago that the early PUGs were going to go away. I tried to
search my submission and it came up with a broken link. I think at the time we
were warned, I copied the shot to my computer, but right now
