So much melodrama ... Pentax as an independent company was short lived, but
Ricoh has money and is positioned to make the best of the brand. Just because
they won't tell all'y'all what their plans are is a silly reason for people to
be getting all weepy and melodramatic about it.

My first SLR was an Asahi Pentax Spotmatic. Later I acquired a
Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic. Much later, I bought a Pentax Spotmatic
for my father. There was no real difference in performance as a
result of the differences in branding.
