Same here. I don't know if that's because I bought a genuine Pentax adaptor
or not.

To attach a screwmount lens to a K-Mount camera, you need the M42 to K
adapter. It's simply a steel bayonet mount that has a thread in the
center to accept screw mount lenses. It will mount in the K-mount camera
just as a lens would mount. (However, to remove it you have to depress
