Very nice. I find it harder to capture detail in red flowers, because
the color often shows too much saturation compared to the surrounding
green, but you have captured these very well.

Both are nice photos.
On #1, you might crop or clone out the red flower in the upper left corner.
The second is more interesting and I keep being drawn back ot the
sharp shadows of the pistol's.

Dan, if you shoot RAW and then reduce the luminance of the red channel in
Lightroom, red flowers come out very nicely--as Dave demonstrates here.
