I know this is probably not the best timing for you, what with the GFM
trip, but I have a Tokina 28-80mm F2.8 ATX-PRO that I am looking to
sell, if you are interested? It is in mint condition and has always had
a Skylight filter in place. Let me know if you are interested.
Cheers

I have one, and it deserved the excellent reviews. Mine doesn't get much use
any more, though, since -- as Jens noted -- f/4 is a bit slow for int
a problem, though. I guess a
Sigma would have died that day.

Heard they are really bad.
Friend has the Sigma EX 28-70 2.8, uses it at concerts and wedd
Not to mention that that 2.8 makes the viewfinder much brighter. Not an
insignificant point in a dimly lit church.

I'm not the one you are asking Sven. However it's well known, that you'll
get a generally brighter viewfinder picture to ease focusing (manual or
automatic). Furthermore it's practical to have contstant aperture thoughout
the whole zoom range when using a non-TTL flash.

No doubt the Tokina ATX PRO II 2.6-2.8/28-70mm (now discontinued I believe).
