George, Agreed, these can be compressed. Each of my scans is 2 pages about 4 by 11 inches. I've tried them on Jpeg Optimizer and can get to 300K from 700K, but after that there are artifacts on the pictures. I wanted good quality as I hope to do this only once. I made color scans with better

As I noted before, I scanned an AF280T manual Saturday and am looking to hand it off to somebody to host it and put it into a pdf format. I've got a couple of volunteers (Christian S. and Fritz W.), but am just now figuring out how to send 16 jpg's of 700K out on my 56K modem. :-( What about
