Samsung owns/owned Schneider and Rollei for some time. I'd be
interested to hear what Bob Shell, who might be more knowledgeable
about that relationship, thinks about this new relationship.

I am relieve in any event to read that Pentax "possesses a wide range of
interchangeable lenses."
I think the main upshot of this is that it might allow Pentax to reduce
its R&D costs in developing new cameras. And perhaps there's a new
Samsung sensor on the horizon.
