Larry,
Those are very nice images!
I've been woken up by my daughter at 4:40am local time, but at that point
I didn't recall about the eclipse, and didn't try to look out of the
window... :-(
For others: sorry about the smoke-screen over your front-row seats. :-)

Hi,
I think I'm going to try to shoot it too.. Moonrise here (California)
is at 6 pm and totality is between 7.23 pm and 8.45 pm.. I guess I'll
try to shoot the onset of totality when the moon is lower in the sky.
It's cloudy here too, though, and there's a thunderstorm forecast - I
hope that do
Yep... and I'm planning on shooting it... the weather is supposed to be
partly cloudy in these parts tonight, which should allow for some interest
in the shots as the moon will be too high to be close to the horizon. That
is assuming the moon is visible through the partly clear spaces.

I did not shoot it. It was a surreal environment to watch it for me though.
I was at the finish line at the Ironman Florida triathlon and the eclipse
could clearly be seen above and to the north of the finish line.

I tried to get a few, although my "lunar shooting" has left much to be
desired in the past. I used my 500 mm mirror lens, as it's the only one
that gives me an acceptably large image.
It was a great eclipse, however. At least where I was, the sky was

The sky is very clear in Slovakia tonight so I tried to take some shots as
